The U.S. government has not issued a travel visa to Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Israeli Minister of Internal Affairs. The report suggests that the Donald Trump administration may not wish for his presence in the United States.
The Israeli source further indicated that the issuance of a diplomatic visa for Ben-Gvir appears to be facing complications. Diplomatic visas typically involve a shorter process and are not subject to the usual scrutiny and inspections.
Suleiman Masoudeh, an Israeli correspondent, reported yesterday that the U.S. Embassy in the occupied territories had requested Ben-Gvir visit the embassy to provide his fingerprints as part of the visa application process. Masoudeh described this request as an unusual step, given Ben-Gvir’s ministerial position and diplomatic passport, which under normal circumstances would exempt him from the fingerprinting procedures typically required of regular visa applicants.
