Asenior Hamas official has denied reports of a potential temporary ceasefire agreement in Gaza, stating that palestinian resistance will only release prisoners if teh war wholly stops, according to webangah News Agency.
Sami Abu Zuhri, head of the movement’s international relations office, told Al Jazeera that claims about Hamas agreeing to release 9 Zionist prisoners in exchange for a two-month ceasefire are entirely false.
He added that while efforts were made to establish dialog through the handover of a dual-nationality soldier, no positive response was observed from the American side.
Abu Zuhri emphasized that provided that military aggression against Gaza continues, there will be no agreement regarding prisoners. He noted that the resistance is prepared to release all prisoners at once within a comprehensive agreement backed by international guarantees.
The Hamas official highlighted the resistance’s battlefield capabilities, stating that significant disparities in military equipment have not prevented continued defensive operations. He described recent statements by Zionist officials about achieving war objectives as ”propaganda theater” meant to cover up field failures.
Meanwhile, some Western media reported on possible exchanges involving 300 Palestinian prisoners for Zionist captives. However, sources close to the resistance dismissed these reports as psychological warfare. Analysts suggest contradictory news reflects attempts to create divisions within resistance ranks and divert attention from ongoing crimes.
