In an ongoing probe, Odisha Police are scrutinising Puri-based YouTuber Priyanka Senapati, in connection with travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra’s arrest over charges of spying for Pakistan. The probe in Puri was intensified on Sunday to ascertain Priyanka’s links, if any.
According to official sources, this inquiry involves collaboration with both the Central and State intelligence agencies to determine the reasons behind certain interactions. A special investigation team in Odisha is headed by Puri Superintendent of Police (SP) Vinit Agrawal, who confirms coordination with Haryana Police counterparts.

Specifically, police authorities seek to understand the nature of communication between the accused and Haryana-based travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra and Priyanka Senapati, as well as the purpose of Priyanka's visit to Kartarpur in Pakistan around three to four months ago. As part of the probe, Priyanka has been instructed not to leave Puri.
Sources from Odisha police have verified these details, and the Puri SP affirms that the investigation is open to all possibilities. “After the matter came to our knowledge, we are verifying if the woman from Puri has any (objectionable) links. We are probing on all possible directions (angles). We are also in touch with the Central and State intelligence agencies including Haryana Police in this regard,” the Puri SP said in a presser.
“It has been known that she (Jyoti Malhotra) had visited Puri last year and our detailed verification is still underway. As I had told previously, you (media) will be informed after completely ascertaining the things,” Puri SP Agrawal further expressed.
Worth mentioning, Priyanka’s father Rajkishore informed on Saturday that he received a phone call from local police station regarding the visit of some officials for questioning his daughter as she had accompanied Jyoti Malhotra during her visit to Puri.
Jyoti Malhotra, aka Jyoti Rani, who ran a travel account on YouTube called 'Travel With Jo', was arrested from Hisar in Haryana on the charges of sharing Indian military information with Pakistan. She is among six people who have been arrested on these charges.
