Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Thursday lashed out at the BCCI for not withdrawing from playing against Pakistan during the ongoing Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates. MP Sanjay Raut, while addressing the media on Thursday morning, said, “While Operation Sindoor is still on, how can the government allow it to play a cricket match against Pakistan?”
Sanjay Raut, while calling this an act of “treason and shamelessness”, also asserted that his party would stage protests under the campaign Sindoor Raksha Abhiyan.
Addressing more about the protest that will be staged by Shiv Sena (UBT), Sanjay Raut said, “We will protest against this India-Pakistan cricket match. Women will come on the streets, and our campaign is 'Sindoor Raksha Abhiyan'... You said that water and blood will not flow together. If water and blood will not flow together, then how will blood and grit work together? ... This is treason, shamelessness," as cited by ANI.
Sanjay Raut, while addressing the media, also slammed Prime Minister Modi and criticised that PM Modi is not able to stand on his own words. Raut, while citing PM Modi’s earlier statement, ‘Water and blood cannot flow together’, said, ‘If water and blood cannot flow together, then how can blood and cricket go hand in hand?’ ANI reported.
While asserting that the pain and grief of the nation still hold a place in every Indian’s heart after the terrifying Pahalgam attack, Sanjay Raut also said, "Operation Sindoor has not ended yet; it is still going on. The sindoor of our 26 women was wiped off in Pahalgam. Their pain, grief, and anger have not ended. Even today, they are in shock. And you people are going to play cricket with Pakistan in Abu Dhabi. This is shamelessness; this is treason. My question is to the BJP, not to the government. My question is for the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, RSS, and Bajrang Dal. Do you have any role in this or not?..."
The Shiv Sena leader also took aim at the BJP and their ideologies. Raut further asked, “My question is to the BJP, not to the government. My question is for the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, RSS, and Bajrang Dal. Do you have any role in this or not?”
