Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says reaching an agreement with the US is possible provided that diplomacy is given priority, as Tehran prepares to resume indirect talks with the United States in Geneva.
Araghchi wrote in a message posted on X on Tuesday that Iran will restart negotiations with the United States in Geneva based on understandings formed in the previous round of talks.
He said the Islamic Republic is entering the discussions “with a determination to achieve a fair and equitable deal—in the shortest possible time.”
Araghchi stressed that Iran’s positions and fundamental beliefs are “crystal clear,” stating, “Iran will under no circumstances ever develop a nuclear weapon.”
“Neither will we Iranians ever forgo our right to harness the dividends of peaceful nuclear technology for our people,” he added.
He described the current moment as “a historic opportunity” to achieve an unprecedented agreement that would address mutual concerns and secure shared interests.
“A deal is within reach, but only if diplomacy is given priority,” he said.
The foreign minister further emphasized that Iran has proven it will “ stop at nothing to guard our sovereignty with courage,” adding that the same courage will be brought to the negotiating table in pursuit of a peaceful resolution of differences.
