Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has declared that Ukraine is 10 percent away from reaching a peace agreement. However, he stressed that Kyiv will not sign any weak deal that merely extends the conflict.
Zelensky warned that signing a fragile agreement would only escalate the war further. He emphasized that his signature would only endorse a strong peace deal, adding that all current meetings, phone calls, and decisions revolve around this objective.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated Moscow’s belief in victory in Ukraine. In a New Year’s address to Russian citizens, Putin stated that Russia relies on its own strength and is writing new chapters in its thousand-year history. He praised Russian military personnel for their service in the ongoing special military operation and assured them of nationwide support.
Putin further asserted that the country will achieve its goals and move forward, expressing wishes for happiness and inspiration for all Russians.
