TEHRAN: Israeli occupation forces conducted widespread raids across the West Bank, injuring Palestinians, detaining civilians, and causing property damage in towns.
Israeli occupation forces carried out extensive raids across multiple areas of the occupied West Bank on Friday and Saturday, resulting in injuries, detainments, and widespread property damage, a report by the Lebanese Al-Mayadeen said on Saturday.
The incursions targeted towns, refugee camps, and Palestinian communities from the central to southern West Bank, amid ongoing tensions and confrontations.
In the central West Bank, two Palestinians were shot and injured during an Israeli occupation forces raid on the al-Jalazon refugee camp, north of Ramallah. Local sources reported that confrontations erupted as occupation forces stormed the camp. One Palestinian sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen, while another was shot in the foot, and both were transferred to local hospitals for treatment.
Meanwhile, in the town of Qaraweh Bani Zeid, northwest of Ramallah, a young man was critically wounded after sustaining injuries to the head during an Israeli raid in the early hours of Saturday and was subsequently hospitalized.
Israeli occupation forces also stormed the town of al-Zawiya, west of Salfit, deploying multiple military vehicles and raiding homes and workshops. The occupation forces assaulted several young men and detained Muhammad Shuqair, son of the town’s mayor, and Mu’taz Aziz. Israeli troops reportedly vandalized doors, windows, and household property during the operation.
The town of al-Zawiya has faced near-daily Israeli incursions for the past month, with repeated home raids, checkpoint installations, and closures, creating ongoing disruptions for its residents.
In the southern West Bank, Israeli troops raided Beit Fajjar and al-Khader, south of Beit Lahm, triggering confrontations with residents. Soldiers fired tear gas and flash bangs, although no casualties were reported at the time of the raids.
East of al-Khalil, a 20-year-old Palestinian man was injured when armed Israeli settlers attacked residents in the Khallat al-Natsh area, hurling stones at homes. The assault caused property damage and heightened fear among local families. The victim was hospitalized for treatment.
In the town of al-Karmel, east of Yatta, Israeli occupation forces detained former detainee Montaser Abu Aram after raiding his home. Meanwhile, Terqumiya, west of al-Khalil, witnessed live gunfire during another military incursion.
Israeli military attacks across the West Bank routinely involve raids, detainments, and confrontations, often conducted arbitrarily. Israeli authorities exercise near-full authority over the Palestinian population under military law, which affects approximately three million Palestinians. The latest raids underscore the ongoing climate of tension and instability in the West Bank, where daily incursions by Israeli forces and settler attacks continue to endanger civilian lives and disrupt local communities.
Israeli authorities have intensified a multi-pronged systemic campaign of demolitions, movement restrictions, and land grabs that is fast-tracking the de facto "annexation" of Palestinian territory across the West Bank.
UN agencies and human rights organizations report a marked escalation in arbitrary detainments, home demolitions, land grabs, and movement restrictions, including the expansion of checkpoints and road closures that severely disrupt daily life. At the same time, settler violence against Palestinian communities has increased, often taking place under the protection of Israeli forces and contributing to forced displacement. Together with ongoing settlement expansion and infrastructure projects on seized land, these practices are increasingly described as advancing a de facto "annexation" of large parts of the West Bank, entrenching instability and placing Palestinian civilian communities under constant pressure.
