The move to censor remarks made by Sheikh Saleh bin Humaid, the speaker of the Masjid al-Haram, during Friday prayers has ignited a firestorm of controversy. The broadcast by Al-Ekhbariya allegedly cut a segment where Sheikh bin Humaid stated that Palestinian children should be depicted as heroic figures against the Zionist regime.
Social media users swiftly condemned the censorship, expressing their dismay over the redaction of the cleric’s words.
During the sermon, Sheikh bin Humaid also affirmed that Palestine and Jerusalem will forever hold a central place in the hearts of Muslims and Arabs.
