Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on May 5, slammed the "dynastic politics" of the Samajwadi Party and the Congress, contrasting their focus on personal gains with his dedication to building a brighter future for the nation's next generations.
Addressing a Lok Sabha poll rally in the home district of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, who passed away in 2022, PM Modi emphasised his commitment to laying the groundwork for India's enduring strength over the next 1,000 years.
"Modi is doing this because irrespective of whether Modi is there or not, the country will always remain and what are these SP-Congress people doing? They are fighting elections for their future and the future of their children," he said.
He highlighted the opposition's alleged self-serving agendas, accusing them of prioritizing their families and vote banks over the welfare of the nation. The Prime Minister also dismissed their slogans as "lies" and criticised their intentions.
Taking aim at dynastic legacies, he contrasted their accumulation of wealth and political influence with his own vision of inclusivity and opportunity for all. He asserted that his legacy is one of empowerment, aiming to break the tradition that only heirs to royal families could hold high office.
Drawing parallels with historical reformers like Raja Ram Mohan Roy, the Prime Minister expressed his desire for a future where anyone, regardless of background, could aspire to and achieve leadership roles.
Highlighting his achievements, he cited initiatives aimed at uplifting the poor, providing basic amenities to marginalised communities, and improving access to healthcare.
"Modi's legacy is the permanent homes for the poor, millions of women in the country have got toilets, Dalits and backward classes have got facilities like electricity, gas connection and tap water," the Prime Minister stated.
PM Modi also accused the Samajwadi Party of hypocrisy regarding COVID-19 vaccines, alleging that while its leaders discouraged vaccination publicly, they secretly received inoculations themselves.
