New Delhi, Nov 20: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday attacked the NDA Government at the Centre on the affidavit filed by CBI officer M K Sharma in the Supreme Court on Monday on investigation against CBI Special Director Rakesh Asthana facing bribery charges.
In a post on social media, Mr Gandhi, referring to the affidavit by the CBI officer, in which he alleged involvement of ministers in the government, law secretary, the CVC and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval in shielding the guilty, said, ‘There is a thriller called ‘chowkidar hi chor’ running in Delhi. In a fresh episode, serious charges have been levelled by a CBI DIG against a minister, the NSA, Law secretary and cabinet secretary. In the meanwhile, his friend whom he brought from Gujarat is indulging in extortion of crores . Officers are tired. The faith has been shattered. The Democracy is wailing. ‘
The Congress said it raised a question mark on role of Government in the matter.
Talking to reporters here on Monday, AICC media in-charge Randeep Surjewala said the affidavit by the CBI officer makes it clear that ministers in the government, law secretary, the CVC and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval are involved shielding the guilty.
“Deeply shocking revelations have surfaced in public domain, which puts a question mark on Prime Minister Modi, the functioning of PMO.
Allegations of bribery have been made against a Minister of State and again a second Minister of State in PMO helping him with influencing when executing that bribery. The Law Secretary of India influencing the investigation, the National Security Advisor hri Ajit Doval influencing the investigation and helping those who are accused, and none less than the Central Vigilance Commissioner K V Chowdary being named in these murky dealings of influencing investigation, of exonerating the accused and punishing those who are not guilty,’ Mr Surjewala said.
