Saudi Oil Minister assures India about oil supply commitment

In a major relief to India vis-a-vis oil supply issues especially in the context of fire mishap on oil installations in Saudi Arabia, India was assured on Thursday that the oil supply commitments to New Delhi would be met as the Kingdom will soon restore production.
The assurance was given by Saudi Oil Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman during tele conversation when his Indian counterpart Dharmendra Pradhan had called him, sources said here.
A massive attack on Saudi crude oil facilities that wiped out nearly five million barrels per day.
India on Monday condemned the attacks on Abqaiq oil processing facility and Khurais oil field in Saudi Arabia and said New Delhi resolves to oppose terrorism in all its forms.
In response to a query on India's reaction to the drone attacks in Saudi Arabia on September 14, MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar has said, "We condemn the attacks of September 14, 2019 targeting Abqaiq oil processing facility and Khurais oil field in Saudi Arabia".
On September 14, two Saudi plants at the heart of the kingdom's oil industry, including the world's biggest petroleum processing facility were attacked by drones.
Saudi Arabia is India’s second-largest oil supplier and supplies nearly two million tonnes of crude every month, reports say.
Around 50 per cent of the Saudi production cut by the attack was reportedly restored.
